Kolding city centre offers a large variety of stores and warehouses, most of them situated in old architectonic surroundings. In the city centre, you can find a few smaller shopping streets.

The Social Life

The social life in Kolding can be very versatile. Kolding has a lot of bars, live musik clubs, dancing clubs and sports bars. The city often has an organized nights and then the city is full of life, offering street food and street markets with stuff from all over the world. Kolding also has a cinema, theatre and art exhibitions. Being a student helps you for getting social as the schools all have a lot of events like pub quiz and parties, sports events and movie nights. The beach in Kolding also adds to the possibilities in the spring and summer. Rowing club and windsurfing is a very popular thing in Kolding and it also has a Kayak club in the city. What To See

Koldinghus

The castle is Kolding’s showpiece. It has a very long history, including a huge fire in 19th century. It was restored and now shows a combination of old and new architectural styles. If you climb to the top of the tower, you will get a beautiful view of the whole city.

Trapholt

The Trapholt museum of modern art, applied art and furniture design is one of the most impressive museums in the area.

Historic Buildings

You can visit many different historic buildings in Kolding. The oldest house, which is orange-coloured, is located in the city centre (Helligkorsgade 18) and was build in 1589. Some people refer to it as Santa's house because of its old style.

You’ll Never Walk Alone Pub

This pub, commonly known as „the English pub“, is located in a passage between Jernbanegade and Klostergade (in the city centre). It offers outdoor seating, meals, live music and shows football matches on big screens.
